As
students of the Instructional Technology Minor program at
St. John Fisher College, we are dedicated to using
technology to design and develop online units of study that integrate content areas
creatively. Using many tools such as
Swish, PowerPoint, FrontPage and more, we are
inspired to author learning environments that meet the needs
of today's young digital learners. Progressing as a team
through the minor courses of study, we came to the
conclusion about a year ago, that there was something
missing as part of our program.
Much to
the dismay of our Instructional Technology alumni, we found
that the online units of study
they had created, and dedicated many hours to, became
"unavailable"
after their graduation. We found
a need to create a virtual environment that would serve to preserve the unique
educational activities they had created. It is
important to us that the student work is available, both
now and in the future, to St. John Fisher students, as
well as the global educational on-line community.
